She

She is here.
She is not here.

She flits in
She is off again.

She has not come to be a part of our lives
Only to see that we have them
To see us safe.

She sees me, you, us, the children
She sees us as children.

She hears our voices
She doesn't hear our words.

Nor does she care to.
It is enough to hear the noise of us
To comfort her.

She is trapped
She is trying to break free.

She is scared.
She is no longer afraid.


She has come to see the life of her family
walking in our presence and our hearts
to say good bye.

Shhh, a secret

I think I've finally done it. I think I've successfully figured out what I should be doing now and for the next few years. I think it's 'clicked.' I need to really put my foot down on myself and do the writing, the boys are old enough and the play area downstairs finally done. If only chapter 12 wasn't now dragging...

Rain

It's been pouring for hours now. I opened the sliding door in the kitchen and the front window by my desk so I can hear it. I love the sound of rain. I love the rain. That's about the only inspiration I have tonight.
